The 9th new album in approximately two years from singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux, often described as the “Billie Holiday of the 21st century.”

For this release, she once again teams up with renowned producer Larry Klein for co-production and co-writing. The album also features collaborations with acclaimed songwriters including Patrick Warren (who has worked with Bonnie Raitt, JD Souther, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Lana Del Rey, and Red Hot Chili Peppers), Brian MacLeod (known for work with Sara Bareilles, Leonard Cohen, Tina Turner, and Ziggy Marley), and David Baerwald (who has collaborated with Joni Mitchell, David and David, and Sheryl Crow). These collaborators also perform on the album, making it a powerful and richly crafted work.

The album title comes from the classic song “Anthem” by Leonard Cohen, whom Peyroux has previously covered. The record also includes a cover of “Liberté,” a World War II poem by Paul Éluard.
